Things to know about Crazy Chemist Candles 100% Soy Wax Candles and Melts

  1. Natural soy wax is polymorphic. This means that each of those tiny wax molecules is not 100% identical (alternative phenotypes for you biology lovers). Over time, this can create some interesting crystal formations. Candlemakers refer to this as frosting. So, you may notice some frosting on your candle. It will not impact the use or performance of your candle, it’s simply the “frosting” on top of your 100% Natural Soy candle.

  2. Due to the nature of natural soy wax, you may also see some ‘pitting’ or a rough, bumpy texture on the surface of your candle - particularly after you have burned the candle and let it cool. Again - this is typical of a 100% natural wax and will not impact the performance of your candle.

  3. You may see some “wet spots” between the wax and the container. These aren’t really wet spots, but instead the wax pulling away from the container. This happens for a variety of reasons and in all wax types. Please know that this will not impact your candle burning experience.

  4. Remember that each candle is hand-poured with a desire to create the best candle possible. Because each batch of candles is created separately, by hand, colors may vary. We do our best to minimize variations, but sometimes, we just like to experiment to see if we can get an even better color or shades of the same color.

  5. The size of the candle you purchase will impact the strength of the fragrance in a particular room. If your room has a lot of air flow, or is very large, a 4 oz. candle may not be large enough to fill the room with fragrance. Heavy air flow may also decrease the burn time of the candle.
